The Agency
Overview: The Paris Climate Agency is a non-profit organisation created in 2011 by the Local Authority and the Environmental and Energy Management Agency. We are a key actor in Paris and the Metropolitan area, specialised in buildings energy retrofit, energy, ecological transition and adaptation to climate change.
About us
Implemented by the Local Authority to achieve the objectives fixed in the Climate Plan, the Paris Climate Agency has more than fifty members and partners. It is a key driving force for the energy transition in Paris which aims at involving the whole region and assisting the implementation of operational projects, particularly in the energy retrofit of buildings.
By promoting dialogue and debate around these major issues, the APC also contributes to create a common knowledge base and initiatives to foster urban transformation. It brings stakeholders together in an alliance that aims at achieving the energy transition of Paris and adapting to the climate change.
The Paris Climate Agency (APC) aims at informing, advising and assisting Parisians in their effort to adapt to climate change and be part of the energy transition. APC is the one-stop shop for energy retrofitting of condominiums in Paris; APC energy advisers accompany co-owners in their work on energy efficiency.
As a nonprofit and multi-partner organisation, the Paris Climate Agency is an operational agency for the energy transition in Paris.
APC is working tightly with its members, developped agile working methods and important ties with the stakeholders.
Our missions
- To inform, advise Parisians, and promote behavior changes through their housing, their job, their consumption habits, their means of tranportation, etc…
- To mobilize and help professionals and individuals to be fully involved in the ecological transition
- To be clearly identified as the local reference on energy and climate related topics through workshops, conferences, training, technical notes, our expertise etc…
Key partners
The six founders of the agency are either private or public stakeholders: the City of Paris, the Île-de-France Region, Météo-France, RATP (public transport operator), CPCU (district heating) and EDF (electricity). Our Partners come from different backgrounds – they are companies, non-profit organizations, local authorities, engineering offices.
All of these partners reflect the dynamic Parisian energy ecosystem that leads the APC itself into a key stakeholder of this network.
APC is one of the first local multi-partnership energy agencies to have public and institutional (Île-de-France Region, RATP, Météo-France) and private (EDF, CPCU) founders.
